Day 1 - The Attack of the Crayon Monsters

The first day that I spent with them I didn't know I was in for anything special at all. But while preparing their snack, I noticed that they were not anywhere that I could see them. I couldn't even hear their voices. I put down their apple slices and started looking around. When I got to my daughter's bedroom, I finally heard some noise. But it wasn't reagular noise. It was odd scraping around sounds and what sounded like softly falling snow. Just sounded like that. Of course I knew it couldn't be snowing IN my daughter's room. That would be silly.

Quietly as I could, I slipped the door open just a crack and peeked inside. You would NOT believe what I saw! Both of the girls were tied up on the floor and these little creatures were jumping all over them with crayons marking up their faces. They had put a huge handful of crayons in their mouths so they couldn't even hollar for help. And the craziest thing about all of what I was seeing, as if the crayon monsters weren't crazy enough, it WAS snowing in there! It was all so weird that I didn't move for what felt like an enternity.

Finally, I got my senses about me and ran in to save the girls. As I ran in, the crayon monsters floated off into several pieces of snow themselves and the snow disappeared. Removing the crayons from their mouths, I thought sure I was going to have to hysterically crying girls on my hands but what I had instead was two hysterically LAUGHING girls on my hands. They had thought the ENTIRE thing hilarious. Go figure.

I ran quickly downstairs to grab my camera because I really felt the world needed to see what these girls looked like. To the left is what I saw when I came back up the steps. It was snowing again and Delaney had a strange look on her face.

Well, I gathered the girls up, helped them clean their faces, and by the time we went back there the snow had stopped. But do you think the girls were happy??? No! They wanted the little monsters to come back and color them up again. Weird, Weird girls.
